How can I prove that I own a particular property?

If the property is registered, an official copy of the register of title is all that is needed to prove ownership. Complete Form OC1 and send it to the appropriate Land Registry local office enclosing the current fee. See Public guide 1 for further information.

You can simply confirm current ownership details using our Find a property e-service. You can print or download copies of the available information for a minimum fee of £4, payable by credit or debit card, but a downloaded copy of the register is not an official copy.
